Veggie Box Program

Our Veggie Program is a component of the free Grocery Program at Southside Community Farm. For 20 weeks during the growing season, we provide free weekly boxes to BIPOC regardless of income, with emphasis on the Southside neighborhood. Fresh produce and herbs are grown on farm plots in West Asheville and at the Southside Community Farm. We value collaboration, and purchase additional local produce, fruit, and value-added products each week from local farmers and business owners. We prioritize BIPOC businesses and farms and support at least one BIPOC business each week.

How it Works

Community members and businesses purchase a weekly box for a BIPOC recipient in our program. When you purchase a box for a full season, you are ensuring free, fresh, locally sourced food for 20 weeks to a BIPOC individual or family in the Asheville community. The cost of the box covers farming, packaging, and purchasing costs, as well as free delivery to the recipient. If you are unable to purchase a box for a full season you can opt to pay for a portion of the season or donate any amount. Click here to support the program today by purchasing a box!
